Entering the final weekend of the season, FOX is on pace to average a
record low rating for MLB coverage.
Last Saturday's regional MLB coverage, featuring Red Sox/Yankees, drew
a 2.1 rating on FOX -- down 9% from a 2.3 for regional coverage on the
comparable date last year. Keep in mind that last year's coverage
aired on the final Saturday of the season.
Despite the decline, the 2.1 rating is the highest for an MLB telecast
on FOX since August 22 (2.3 -- Yankees/Red Sox).
Through Saturday, FOX is averaging a 1.8 rating for MLB coverage, down
10% from a 2.0 through the same point last year. FOX is on pace to set
an all-time record low for regular season MLB coverage on broadcast --
for the third straight season. |
