Pharisees got something to hide?
You'd think these shining icons of righteousness would *welcome* an
honest investigation.

"The Jewish religion as it is today traces its descent, without a break,
through all the centuries, from the Pharisees."
— Universal Jewish Encyclopedia

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto
whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within
full of dead (men’s) bones, and of all uncleanness.
Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are
full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
Matthew 23:27,28

Palestinian Authority withdraws support for UN war crimes resolution

The Palestinian Authority has withdrawn its support for a UN Human
Rights Council resolution on alleged war crimes in Gaza, diplomats say.

The resolution endorses a UN report that claims both Israel and
Palestinian militant groups committed war crimes and possible crimes
against humanity during the conflict in Gaza last December.

Palestinian officials earlier this week welcomed the report when it was
first presented, while Israel and the United States strongly rejected
the findings.

Israel has hired attorneys and lobbied Western governments to fend off
potential international prosecution of its political and military
leaders.

This week, British activists attempted to have Israeli defence minister
Ehud Barak arrested for war crimes connected to his role in the Gaza
war, during his visit to the UK.

The court that considered the arrest request ruled that Barak enjoyed
immunity as a cabinet minister.

UN and European diplomats, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the
Palestinian delegation's surprise turnaround means any resolution on the
report would probably be delayed until next March.

Although the Palestinians aren't voting members of the 47-nation rights
council, Arab and Muslim countries who control the body may be reluctant
to press ahead with the resolution today without Palestinian support.

A senior US official, also speaking on condition of anonymity, said the
Palestinian decision came after "intense diplomacy" by Washington to
convince the Palestinian leadership that going ahead with the resolution
would harm the Middle East peace process.

"The Palestinians recognized that this was not the best time to go
forward with this," the US official said.
