Looks the best bet to break Tendulkar's records. Best 19yr old bat
I've ever seen.

Since both Tests & ODIs will be dead, It will be very hard for any new-
comer to break Sachin's record (actually it will be Ponting's record)

Tests Dead => Test match being played by a totally different team
(Strauss'es of the world).
You can bet your bottom dollar, the Akmal's of the world will not be
playing test cricket in about 10 years

I was watching the highlights of the Pak tour to SL on youtube and
this guy was hitting Malinga for sixes and fours almost at will.

I can remember the first time I saw Tendulkar playing - he must have
been more like 17, and it was clear that he was a player of great
class. But OK... it was the same with Darryll Cullinan at that age, or
Terence Lazard or Justin Ontong and when Vaughan van Jaarsveld was 17
I was hearing that he was a better player, more talent etc than Graeme
Smith.

Young talent, no matter how great, doesn't always amount to a great
career, so we'll see.

As for last night's performance by Akmal, I thought what he did well
was to realise that there was plenty of time on the match and then
played each ball on it's merits. It did look like he was picking up
line and length very early. So it was impressive and there are
indications of real talent, but it's early days yet.

I thought last night's match was played in conditions where sticking
to basics counted for a lot. Bowlers who bowled straight and on a
length were going to do well, and batsmen had to get into position and
play with a straight bat until the bad ball came along.

Great, fantastic. Get back to me when these blokes have scored 20
international centuries and actually look like approaching Tendulkar's
achievements.

I realise you're probably not old enough to have seen Tendulkar at 19, but
you'll have to excuse me for suspecting that your up-and-comers don't quite
measure up. The 19-year-old Tendulkar added a century at the Wanderers
against Allan Donald to a resume that already boasted wonderful Test
centuries at Manchester, Sydney and Perth. I imagine you could find a tape
to fill in the gaps in your education.

First sensible post i have seen from you in years.

I have grown weary of your constant criticism, which over the years has
lowered my self-esteem to the size of a pea. And I thought the best way to
mend bridges was to write something nice about Tendulkar. I've actually
never seen him bat.
