Scissors and/or hair clippers - I'm lucky, though. My birman is so laid back
she's almost comatose. |

Easiest way is to go to a dog groomer, they also do cats.
If you do it yourself then scissors. Make several cuts into the knot,
cut in the opposite direction that the fur normally takes. Do not cut
across the knot. Then gently brush the pieces of knot out using a
small dog brush with the curved wire pins.
Constant brushing is the price you pay for that cute, long haired
kitten you saw in the pet store. As it is, the poor cat is in pain
with the matted knots and you have an ugly ball of fur wandering
around the house.
If you are not prepared to look after the cat then give him to someone
who will. |
