Any of you folks with sleep apnea had any luck camping or backpacking
with a hammock, like a Hennessy hammock (the one I'm considering). My
CPAP machine is set to 12, just to give a comparison point. I'd like
to get back out on the trail some, but since being on my CPAP machine,
I now know that it feels like to nap without it and don't know how I
got along without it all these years.
I'm not yet willing to spend 2500$ on a dental appliance yet. |

Before you take it on the trail, you should test it in your backyard,
courtyard, neighbor's yard, park, wherever.
I've used a hammock camping before and it was okay, but this was long before
I developed breathing problems. Don't know if I have apnea or not since I
had to cancel the test because I couldn't afford it. |

I think Kaiser uses a cheaper take home test that is $1200, rather
than the overnight $6000 ones. You don't get as specific the
information, but the treatment is the same, so they figure what the
heck.
Yeah, just bought one and will go up to a friends house and string it
up and see how I sleep. If it doesn't work, I can take it back. |

Shouldn't you be discussing this with a qualified doctor?
I don't mess around with things that can make you stop breathing.
Annecdotes from anonymous posters on the interwebs. Meh.

You, on the other hand, should take the advice of every post
you ever find on the interwebs. Including all spam and all
web sites with adverts for "enhancing" products.

You will sleep quite differently in a hammock than in a bed. buy a
cheap open hammock and take a nap with it in the backyard with your
machine and see if it logs anything. |
