I made an adapter to allow me to use my portable drill batteries. I can keep

one on charge and use the other one.
They pack enough energy for many cluster launches.

I do the same. I used to have some SLA batteries but keeping them charged
was a pain.

They are all about the same. MY beef was them becoming paper weights
when you lost the stinking special charger and off course its unmarked
for polarity.

I got mine at radio shack on clearance but I think Harbor Frieght has
the same thing in red. its a regular no frills jump box but it has a
SOCKET on the side so you take any normal extension cord and "plug it
in" the charger is built in.

I have been using mine for pretty much anything you can think of for
3+ years now no problems yet. I love them. I run my camera's off them
my cars my boats lights you name it. Off course they have a 12v socket
as well so you can plug an inverter in etc..

Yep, they last a good while. I've got 2 that are already 8 years old and
still kicking. I got mine at Harbor Freight for like $39 but then it was
2001 or so. Might be $49 now.

BTW Chris, nice job again with NARAM. Thanks for posting and all that goes
with it. You always do a great job!

Try one of those rechargable ones they use for burglar alarms. I just got
one installed and it is 12V 3.5 amps and so compact.
