WK than AB Devil Ears, or does he not qualify as useless and/or
Boer? ].
Unreasonable though it may seem, I felt that a Test Mediocrities
XI
ought to be made up of people who had actually played Test
cricket.
Even if AB de Villiers is a crap WK,
Which he isn't. He's actually pretty damn good. A natural.
Mike obviously didn't watch him keep in the 2004/05 series against
SA
after Tsolekile scandalously took the gloves from Boucher.
he averages 44 with the bat, and my guess is he's still
improving in the batting department.
Good guess.
Tsolekile averaged 9 with the bat in 3 tests. His CricInfo bio says
he
considers himself a batsman first and a WK second.
Tsolekile is probably the worst keeper-batsman *ever* to play for
SA.
Actually probably the worst ever to play Test cricket.
His keeping made Haddin's look Boucher-esque and his batting style
reminded me of Paul Adams'.
So presumably the bloke who wrote this article had never seen a day's
cricket in his life:

Yes Andrew, Tsolekile's performance was so good that he was dropped
for the next Test.
One would guess he was dropped for not scoring enough runs. Which rather
dodges the issue at hand, namely that you made extravagant claims about
how
bad a 'keeper Tsokekile was but which appear to have no justification.
For
all I know the bloke may never have earned his place in the team on merit
but given the prevalence in recent times of 'keepers conceding 30+ byes
in a
single innings it's not rocket science to work out that your "worst ever
to
play Test cricket" is complete bollocks. Any particular reason for that?
Ah I see what's happened. You missed the part where typed "keeper-
batsman"
At the time there were others miles better. Morne van Wyk for one.
