There is a rider to another bill that if passed will allow guns in
National Parks. I am for this - as I am going to be tent camping with
babies and would like to have my gun if a bear decides to come into a
tent.

Are you going to keep your food in the tent too? If one really looks at
the statistics, having a bear break into your tent, WHEN YOU HAVE STORED
YOUR FOOD SMELLS, Properly, is about the same as a Jet Airplane Engine,
falling out of the sky, and crushing your tent.....
Maybe you should stay home, and build a Concrete Bunker to live in.....
Till your babies grow up....
Don't get me wrong here, I have always been of the opinion that Firearms
should be allowed in our National Parks, but to cite Bear Protection as
the valid justification, is just plain DUMB......
I, for one, actually live out in bear country, (Far out in the bush of
Alaska) and I don't walk around "packing" in my Neighborhood
(Neighborhood = 100 Sq Miles) on a regular basis. My Bear Neighbors and
I coexist just fine, year round. I am not in their Food Chain, and I
already have my Rug hung on the Cabin Wall...
When I do feel the need to go Armed, it is usually due to Two Legged
Predators, who wonder in from the FlatLands, thinking that my
neighborhood is their Private Shooting and Hunting Preserve... Nothing
like a Touristo to scare the Hell out of you.....
