Tollbooth Dog Days
The Phantom Tollbooth
August 2008 Press Release
The newspaper business (remember newspapers??) calls August the Dog
Days---it's a time of year mixed up some how with Sirius, the Dog
Star, but at the Tollbooth, we celebrate Tock the Watchdog that our
rating system is named after, and the Hound of Heaven. Slow down and
have your change ready . . .
August features include a heavy dose of Cornerstone Festival coverage.
We've got a diary of a Press Tent Volunteer, and links to enough press
conferences and discussions to give you something informative to
listen to every day of the month.
Artist interviews include Andy Hunter and Andrew Stanton, director and
writer of the movie Wall. We have a single serving of the Bee Gees,
a question answered by the Rock Doc, our monthly roundup of upcoming
releases--The Crossing. Don't overlook that concert review where Barry
McGuire reclaims his legacy at a house concert.
Summer reading is yielding a wealth of book reviews:
Margaret Feinberg - The Sacred Echo
Robin Parrish - Merciless
Captain Chris Plekenpol - Faith in the Fog of War: A Soldier's
Journey Through the Valley of the Shadow of Death
Paul Robertson - Road to Nowhere
