Finale 2003 with 2003a r1 Update
I tried Manual and Help -- it looks like I cannot have my digital
piano play Treble Clef Layer 1 while I use Hyperscribe to record
Treble Clef Layer 2; but while I’m doing this recording of Treble Clef
Layer 1, Layers 1 and 2 of Bass Clef play back. Is there a way to have
my digital piano play Treble Clef Layer 1 while I use Hyperscribe to
record Treble Clef Layer 2?Thanks.

Neil - it may not let you.

Try this though (if you haven't already) - Go into the Instrument List and
explode down the settings for the staff and you'll see all four layers
there. I believe you can set the layers to they're own individual MIDI
channel. If layer 1 is on channel 1 and layer 2 is on channel 2, you might
get playback (however seeing as the bass staff is on channel 1 and it plays
back, it's probably a hyperscribe shortcoming).

The only other option I can think of is, if you MUST hear that layer 1 part,
put it on its own separate staff. You can later Implode those two staves
(your layer 1 staff and the newly recorded layer 2 staff) into 1. Kind of a
hassle and takes a little tweaking.

HTH,
Steve
