I AM DISABEDL ADN POOR. I LIVE IN LOW-INCOME HOUSING IN NYC.
I CURRENTLY HAVE ORDERED A BUNCH OF THINGS FROM DIRECTGARDENING.COM
AND OTHER PLACES, WHICH I CANNOT AFFORD., PERHAPS.
I COVET ROSES, IRISES, PEONIES, LILIES, AND ANY OTHER PERENNIALS OR
SPRING BULBS THAT I CAN ALSO GROW FROM SEED OR STEM-SWEELS (AS ON
TIGER LILIES AND OTHER LILIES).
I HAVE AN ACCOUNT ON PAYPAL UNDER THE NAME " ROSAPHILIA at (no spam) WEBTV.NET ".
THERE IS NO BUDGET OR GRANT AVAILABE TO ME AS AN INDIVIDUAL AND WHAT I

I'm sure this scam artist never gets a penny for these amazing whoppers,
but he or she (apparently an enormously fat woman whose disabilitly is
overeating) was previously caught attempting to perpetrate a neediness
fraud entitled "Kapindra Swami needs Assistance", claiming the good swami
was cold, hungry, and suffering, send money to such and such. The swami
actually existed and soon came forth to reassure everyone he was not cold,
hungry, or suffering, and never heard of this scammer. The Hare Krisna
newsgroup on which the scam was attempted declared this poster "one of the
myriad crazed personalities afoot on the planet today." Such as are easily
drawn into Krishna circles!
By the name Anna Yamada 133 west 90th Street Apt 16E, NYC 10024 this same
scammer has begged for money to assist a Fox Terrier that presumedly
needed several thousand dollars worth of immediate veterinarian care.
Apparently no one fell for it because of internal inconsistencies in the
lengthy plea for help. Apparently not understanding that these posts are
archived, the poster at other times begged in behalf of her "coondog" and
o ther animals targetted to specialized newsgroups for the breeds. During
another round, the begging was to help her dalmation mix. Long ago under
a different addresses like "rosaphil at (no spam) echonyc.com" and
"rosaphil at (no spam) phantom.com." From "rugosa at (no spam) interport.net" she begged for help
with her rottweiler, then it was a blind wire haired terrier with
Cushing's disease requiring very expensive drugs.
There's always a loony "sob story" to go with these shaggy dog stories,
never believable, though if true this is one of the sorts of crazy people
who live with a shitload (and I mean a shitload) of ill-cared for animals.
This person has had troubled relationships with both the Moonies and the
Krishnas, two cults that advocate begging as a holy act. My suspicion is
that either this person joined these cults hoping to out-scam professional
scammers, or was just kicked out for not playing by their rules, though
having learned a few tricks along the way. But not quite all her
obsessions have to due with scamming for free stuff and money. For a while
she became convinced she had the hanta virus! Hanging out with too many
gerbils I guess.
One of her funnier scams was begging to be put in everyone's last will and
testament, preferably someone with a house in the countryside. In that one
she claimed her "disapbility" was manic-depression (not a diagnostic term)
and a "bad back." Hey, I've got a heel spur, will some stranger leave
their country house to me?? Her posts in a schizophrenic support group
could mean she's truly certifiable, or could mean she seeks out the
vulnerable for her scams about sick puppies and imaginary community
gardens she's been developing for a decade of on-line pretences.
She has also sold "memberships" to wineries. For years the Moonies tried
to get her to stop pretending to represent their winery, for which she
seems to have developed a wino's obsession and believed herself a business
parter. Later still she went on a web rampage against the winery --
classic love spurned response.
Probably, regular-ol' mental illness may be the instigating factor, since
the begging stories are always a little off-kilter and internally
inconsistent. This one, for instance, asks us to imagine someone too
disabled to work except in a big garden she's creating for the whole
community; and wants others to pay bills for unnecessary items obtained
out of admitted covetousness. How could a scammer think anyone would give
money to a jerk like that? So mental illness has got to be part of it, so
no surprise she's also posted that the herbal cures for addiction and
psychosis failed to work, I kid you not!

I've seen several of your replies of this nature detailing the posting and
real life history of some of usenets kookier kooks.
I bet that if you've kept copies of your posts over the years then with a
bit of searching, editting, perhaps recalling more such stories, etc. a very
interesting book could result.
