Let me tell you that in 10 plus years on various forums, I have
learned more than I could have ever dreamed...as follows:
1. I learned that one could make wonderful acquaintances and even life-
time friends just by expressing opinions ans howing a certain
"style."(e g. One of my dearest Internet friends said she wanted to
meet the guy who "wrote like that"..as opposed to a few who would say,
"I want to murder the guy who wrote like that.)
2. I learned that sometimes you review a singer and the singer reads
what you wrote and sometimes the singer wonders "Who is this guy who
hates me."
3. I became acquainted with some leading artists and developed an
"Internet friendship" with them...Bumbry is one example.
4. I realized that so many knowledgeable people "hear differently" and
must be respected no matter how differently they "hear" what you think
you hear.
5. I have been amazed at the material available...how one can type and
search and instantly find needed info....Like a kind of "supernatural
experience."
6. Sadly, I realized that some people use the anonymity of
cybers[pace to vent their own hatred and frustrations.(Cheaper than
paying a therapist.)
7. I have discovered marvelous new voices as others have discussed
them and made me interested (despite spending too much money on
Amazon.)
8. I have realized my fantasy about helping others to discover some of
the treasures that the earlier generation taugh me,.....and that is
the most rewarding thing of all.
9. I found out, much to my surprise, that I am not loved by
everyone.What a downer that is!!!!!
10. I learned how to curse in about 5 languages I never studied as a
language major.
11. I found that there is a "Franco Corelli" who is a porno star..and
he has a lot of "squillo," not saying where.
12. I discovered that I could become a veritable legend in my own
mind.
What do you wish to tell us about own pleasant and perhaps not-so-
happy Internet expriences? |
