I think the next possible court challenge is in the 6th paragraph, 3rd
sentence of this press release.

While I haven't finished reading the entire SCOTUS opinion yet, I
don't remember reading anything so far within the court opinon that
would allow the DC gov't to continue to place an ownership ban of a
handgun, based strictly on its operational characteristics.

As I've said many times before, the Supreme Court goes through a lot of
effort to ensure that they do not accomplish anything. Instead of
coming up with a decision that is clean and unequivocal, they leave
openings in it that allow the lawmakers to reword things a bit and as
such require someone to file suit against them again... It is like they
are in the business of ensuring that lawyer have more work to bill their
clients for...

If you look at the history of this case, you will see that it was first
filed in February of 2003, thus 5 years for it to finally make it to the
Supreme Court...

Unless the Supreme Court is willing to really settle this issue by
finally admitting that any firearm related law that came after the 2nd
Amendment is by its very nature an INFRINGEMENT upon our right to bear
arms, it is unlikely that any sort of meaningful restoration of our 2nd
Amendment rights will really occur... DC will make a couple of very
minor changes... Someone will file suit against it... Five years later,
it will finally make it to the Supreme Court... They'll issue yet
another candy-ass decision... The lawmakers will make a couple more
slight changes to their laws and the process will start all over
again... This will continue until the balance of the court changes and
we get stuck with a more leftist group of justices... They could have
prevented this yesterday by just saying that any law that places any
sort of restriction on gun ownership is by its very nature an
infringement upon our 2nd Amendment rights and as such is overturned...

More pabulum for the whining losers.

DC gun violence is directly gang and drug related, just like everywhere
else.

And just like everywhere else, criminals don't obey laws.

You, your gunhugging buddies, and the firearms industry are
doing their best to make sure the gangs and druggies have
easy and ready access to firearms.
