Okay all you Canadians, this Texan is headed to the Vancouver area
later this month. Any spots you would recommend for some good
birding? Any species in particular of which I need to be aware?
Your thoughts and recommendations will be much appreciated. |

Is it okay if a non-Canadian responds? :-)
If you have wheels, you might tool Southward and bird around Boundary Bay,
at the border between the US and Canada. Excellent waterfowl, and it's only
about 40 km from Vancouver.
There are populations of Mynahs well-established over on Vancouver Island;
if you get a chance to tool over to Victoria you might see them.
And if you're interested in chicken feet -- i.e. dim sum -- I heartily
recommend "Pink Pearl" for dim sum at LEAST once while you're there,
especially if you can bring several people along. (You get to try more
things that way, see.)
Stanley Park itself has pretty good bird habitat, and year-round resident
bald eagles, if that floats your boat. And the Aquarium is pretty
spectacular, if a bit pricey. Have fun!

Thanks Josh. We will fly into Seattle and rent a car to travel to
BC, I did not mean to exclude anyone from responding to my post.
Perhaps the humor was lost or in bad form. My apologies. I
appreciate your recommendations. Happy birding! |
