Just bought an '85 BMW R80RT. Bike is good and center stand works just
fine *but* something has broken off the main leg of the stand on the
left hand side?

Looks like it would be some sort of lug that would come up under the
left footpeg to stop the stand bashing into the exhaust collector box
when it comes up? Its bashing there right now and over time will cause
damage.

I'm sure I can weld it (its big thick steel) but I dont know what
should be there. Is it a lug/bump-stop? what?
could anyone send me a photo of the center stand that shoes that lug
(unbroken)? (email: al at (no spam) blakes.net)
Or a description?

Tried searching the net but no-one takes detailed photos of center
stands (surprisingly!)

Thanks
Al.

There should be a ring on the left hand side holding
a rubber bumper stop. If you don't have the metal
ring, order the rubber bumper first and fabricate the
metal ring to match the bumper
