Greetings:
As many of you know, I have been working on a new CD for the past year. It's now
more than half done, and if all goes according to plan, the North American
release concert will be at the Peoples' Voice Cafe in New York City on Saturday,
January 31, 2009. Mark you calendars now. There will also be a release in the
UK, and possibly one in Israel as well.
The new CD is called "Low Rent District," and you can listen to or download a
sneak preview of the title song from the SoundClick website right now for free.

This particular song just has me on vocals and guitar, but the finished CD will
feature 18 songs in all, including many with my comrades-in-song. Among my
accompanists will be Gina Tlamsa on fiddle, Robin Greenstein and Alan Friend on
banjo, Carl Fortunato on piano, and Allen Hopkins on harmonica, plus various
people on back-up vocals. As with my previous two CDs, Ray Korona is doing the
recording, editing, mixing, and mastering.
So, please enjoy the sneak preview while you can. I'm taking it down once the
finished CD is in hand.
Meanwhile, don't forget that I'll be appearing at the Eighth Annual Woody
Guthrie Birthday Bash at the Bowery Poetry Club in New York City on Sunday
evening, July 13, 2008. Among the others appearing in this two and a half hour
round robin songfest are Hillel Arnold, Jessica Feinbloom, Emma Graves, Joel
Landy, Anne Price, Sandy Pliskin, and Gina Tlamsa, along with Carlos Vazquez on
bass. The show starts promptly at 7:00 PM, and the cover charge is only $6 plus
a one-drink minimum purchase. The Bowery Poetry Club is located at 308 Bowery,
between Houston and Bleecker Streets in Lower Manhattan.
