Yesterday I had some out-patient surgery. My daughter, Linda, came
up to drive me and take care of me while I recovered. she decided to
come a day early and we spent the day birding at Bear Island and the
Donnelley WMA near the coast of SC. wonderful 80+ bird day! That
total includes 4 different terns and many Painted Buntings. For once
the Painteds out numbered the Indigos! the most spectacular sight was
hundreds of Wood Storks! I have never seen so many at one time. and
of course there were also hundreds of egrets and herons mixed into the
flocks. When they would all take to the air at the same time it
sounded like a jet taking off! What a day. I apologize if this is a
little garbled, I still am not quite awake!! Mary Ann

Hi Maryann,

Hope you're feeling better today! Sounds like you had a fabulous birding
day: Painted Buntings, Indigo Buntings, Wood Storks ... wow!
