It looks like a 2 volt lead-acid battery/accumulator without the acid,
probably for a specialised application judging from the terminals.

Thanks for the reply, I was looking for help with number 1323, although your
description of number 1320 is correct, it is indeed a battery. A couple
people have suggested that number 1323 is a watchmaker's vise, I haven't
been able to verify it but this sounds plausible.

It's obviously a holding device of some kind. Possibly a vise. Probably
made for a specific operation, such as riveting, punching or shaping an
object.
Certainly not a watchmaker's vise, though: this looks too specialized,
made to hold a specific object, and too crude for that application.

Looking at the current posting, Item 1332 looks like a ship's log that
is towed behind a vessel and rotates with the dials counting the
revolutions to show distance run through the water.
