In the mid 1970s, Pete and Arlo did one or two shows at the Saratoga
Performing Arts Center. These shows were broadcast on PBS over the next
few years.

If anybody has any leads on how I might get video of this show or these
shows, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

You've tried YouTube?

Surprising how much older folk stuff is showing up there. I think Mudcat's
YouTube thread is keeping an informal record of it.

There are a bunch of (pre-Arlo) Seeger TV shows.

And pre, I suppose, his being banned on TV with the HUAC blacklist. I'll
have to look that up.

I had long thought that footage would be part of the "Live at Wolftrap"

series, but now that it's brought up, maybe I have been thinking wrong
for some years.

I almost saw them in Vermont in 1977, but we decided to not go at
the last minute. But there was something on PBS that summer with the two
on, so it seemed a stand-in for not going. I then saw Pete that fall
for the first time, here in Montreal. It wasn't till about 1984 or 85
that I saw them together, again here in Montreal (though their first
live album together had some bits from a 1975 concert here).

When I watched the Pete Seeger "American Masters" on PBS some
months ago, I thought it was odd that is more ore less ended at about
1978, when I first saw Pete. His life after that got about fifteen
minutes.

No, you are correct. That was the Live from Wolftrap series, which, I
beleive, was originally on in the summer of '76. I have a DVD-R of the
second repackaging of that show, made from a VHS (which was, unfortunately,
not hi-fi, thus the sound is less than great).

Yes, have followed up as much as possible with the people who have
posted Pete on youtube. Thx for suggestion, though.

Tell ya what; if you did actually see Pete & Arlo at Saratoga Performing
Arts Center on a PBS station, it was either local or regional, and not PBS
network. Also, if you were to give a clue as to maybe what songs were
performed in the concert, then we could be more certain if it was the Live
at Wolftrap show, or if you did indeed see some other concert.

Hello Ed, Don, Bill, etc. I'm a bit puzzled as to your names as I'm
the guy who originally posted the inquiry about the Pete and Arlo
Video from Saratoga. I see it's been circulated all around the "world"
now in different languages, with different replies coming in. Here's
some further info:

I am NOT confusing this with the Wolftrap show. The Saratoga show was
done in "circa 1974" and was broadcast repeatedly on PBS stations in
the Northeast US. I saw it in summer of 76 and again in 77. I recently
acquired an AUDIO tape of it that somebody made from their TV. Here's
the song list

Well May The World Go/Revolutionary Tea/Oh, What A Beautiful City/ I'm
Gonna Be An Engineer/Worried Man Blues/Son Of Week On The Rag/
Stealin'/ The Three Rules Of Discipline & The Eight Rules Of Attention/
Sailin' Up, Sailin' Down/Reuben Ramzo/There's Room In The Boat For You/
Midnight Special/ Wimoweh/Amazing Grace/Recorder Melody/Goodnight,
Irene :
Again, any help in finding a VIDEO of this show would be fabulous.

Yep. With that setlist, you are correct. Not Wolftrap. Had to have been
regional though. And home VCRs weren't everywhere yet then. I'm not
optimistic for you, but, good luck.
