Hi welcome. A lot of the old heads such as bullethead and jackthetab
dont seem to post anymore. We also had Matthew Florianz here for
awhile. I personally am into the Brian Eno ambient, not the club-
ambient... although chillout music is OK at time.
I have a lot of favorite artists. Where do you get your ambient music
from? I mainly search at archive.org for my favorite things. |

HI Metaperl,
thanks for the welcome. Where do I get mine from? all over the place
really, I spend a lot of time trawling the Internet because I live in
an area that is quite rural so not a lot of ambient music happens
around here. There's a great book which has probably been discussed
here called the Ambient Century which you can check out on amazon at
<a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ambient-Century-Mahler-Evolution-
Electronic/dp/0747557322/ref=sr_1_1?
ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1211443551&sr=1-1">Ambient Century</a> (hope links
work here otherwise that will look like gobbledygook.
Ive used that book a number of times to explore some of the main
contributors who Ive not personally come across over the years myself.
I run a site with a bunch of other ambient / chillout artists where we
sell out music too which is at: ,a href="http://
www.ambientmusicgarden.com">Ambient Music Garden.com</a>.
Where do you look for ambient? |

I dont post much, but I am still around.
I recently unsubbed to the ambient list (Hyperreal) after
contributing since 1994...how sad. Anyways, it would be nice
to have a newsgroup revival.

I still check this group now and then, but man, it's dead most of the
time. Plus a lot of Google groups are getting spam-bombed lately. But,
hell, I'll be happy to chime in on any discussion topic when I read
one. And Jack, nice to read your words again. I've actually been
laying low lately myself because real life has exploded with all kinds
of stuff that can't be postponed, e.g. day job, car accidents, home
repairs. Eventually hope to rekindle the flame, but for now, it's
tough to find the time.

I hear you Bill. Life has become so busy. I just dont have the same amount
of time as I used too. Oh to be young again without so many
responsibilities. Good luck with things, and sorry to hear about the car
accident.
Some good ambient for you to try out -
