The Table Tennis Pioneers recently undertook the creation of a new set
of awards for the US and Canada, The Perseverance Trophy. We want to
recognize the two individuals in North America that embody the spirit
that we feel is critical to success in our sport and one that our
company believes so strongly in.
We need your help to properly name this award that we will present to
two players each year in North America, one from the US and one from
Canada. Football has the "All-Madden" Team and we want something
comparable in our sport. If you know of a player (or title) we could
name this award that would personify the quality of intestinal
fortitude we will reward you with two sheets of your favorite rubber!
You can submit as many entries as you like and our judges will pick
from the very best. In the case of a tie suggestion, the first
submission will win.
Now, who can win the award? Anyone, and the only requirements are that
you have played in a sanctioned tournament over the past year. Male or
female, young or old, righty or lefty, shakehands or penholder or
Seemiller style and without any Rating cutoff.
Do you have a practice partner or teammate that always brings out your
best and never gives an inch? Did you watch a recent match where a
person snatched victory from the jaws of defeat? Is there a club
member that is the backbone of your local group that if they weren't
there there wouldn't be any table tennis? Both on and off the table
courage is welcomed as this is a chance to shine the light on someone
who really is inspirational to us all. We will give everyone a chance
to vote on all the awards to let judges know who is most worthy.
Please visit: http://www.ping-pong.com/trophy.php to submit a name for
the trophy and/or to nominate a candidate.
