Hello all,

I just started my 3time/week swim routine. I will be a bridesmaid in a
few months. No matter how much sunscreen I put on, the dark/white
pattern starts to show up on my back and shoulder. So I'm looking for
a swimsuit with sleeves. I went to local sports store and searched
online. I only found sth called rash guard which is used between the
skin and the wetsuit. Can u use rash guard + a bikini bottom as the
swimsuit? Underwear necessary? The material looks very thin!

Experienced swimmers please give some input. What other choices do I
have? What's the difference between swimsuit and bathing suit? Any
with sleeves?

Thanks a lot! Anxiously waiting for any suggestions!

Tiffany,
What about using one of the tee-shirts that have an spf--they are sold
by kayaking outfitters, etc.? You could put it on over your swimsuit.

One of my girls has a problem with irritation due to our less then
wonderfull pool chem + acne meds. She swims most of our workouts with a
rash guard and seems to be fine with it.

I have the exact same problem. I normally swim in a conventional
"speedo", but when outside and exposed to sun, I will add a lycra
shirt. This can either be a wetsuit liner or a thing called a
"watershirt" I bought from Kiefer.com several months ago. These, of
course, will slow me down a bit. Another possible solution is to
check the wetsuit section of a triathlon gear site or catalog. These
often have two piece wetsuits with the parts sold separately and in
varying thickness.

Thanks a lot! I'll look into rash guard. I'm new to the water sports
so not very familiar with all these. Does she wear rash guard on top
of regular swimsuit or just rash guard only? If just rash guard, need
any underwear?

Thanks,
Tiff

Get a spray tan before the event? Or buy a home tanning cream?
