Ocean is a collection of dreamy sea-inspired pieces by Anglo-Irish-American
composer and band leader Jennifer Cutting. She's had a longtime fascination
with the intersection of music, mythology, psychology and spirituality. The
epic production took seven years and five transatlantic crossings to complete.
Ocean explores the rich symbolism of water and its themes of transition and
transformation. It was recorded in England and the United States of America,
with additional recording in Paris (France). More at

It isn't *all* dreamy. Some of it is quite perky, if not edgy. The review
leaves out the classically inspired bits, the Bach and the Holst. My personal
favorite is JC knocks off Gustav's "Jupiter" - it is very calming, sung by
Grace Griffith in Donegal dialect Irish Gaelic. Also the Dissolving/King
Neptune Set and the Neptune Reel/Woman of the House.

There's some straight up folk rock on there, too. "Forgiveness" and "Sands of
Time."

You can get to Jennifer's web site via http://www.jennifercutting.com if you
want more detail on this stuff.

Checking out the other musicians on the CD twisted my arm. Looks very

promising.
