I have a season pass from SFOG 2009. I can renew for $50 online.
However, I will not be going to SFOG first this year (probably not at
all, actually). My first SF visit will be to SFGAdv in June. Season
passes there are currently $70.

So 2 questions---

1) I know in the past, you could renew your SP from another park and
it comes already activated (no need to visit that particular SF
first). Is that still the same way? On their website (under renewals)
it states that you must activate it at your home park first (is that
just a copy and paste thing though?)

2) Assuming the answer to question 1 is too risky or it definitely
would have to be activated at SFOG first (which isn't an option for
me), then do the prices to SFGAdv typically go up as the season
progresses (I know they used to be like that years ago). So would it
be cheaper to buy an SP online now (and pay the print at home fee), or
just wait until I visit the park in June and buy it in person (and pay
the same rate but without the print at home fee)?

Thanks for any help that can be given.

Depending on what park I'm going to first for the year, I'll just buy
a new one versus renewing. Especially if it's cheaper!

In some cases, they make you come in and take a new picture
anyway....not sure why as the pictures suck FWIW.
