ANNOUNCING THE 10th ANNUAL $12,000 BART O’HEARN CELEBRATION FOOSBALL
TOURNAMENT

- Austin Area Tournament Draws Top Table Soccer Players from
Throughout USA -

Austin, Texas – Already, some 200 table soccer (a.k.a. "foosball")
players and enthusiasts have begun to prepare for one of the nation’s
most unusual, unique sports competitions: the 10th Annual $12,000 Bart
O’Hearn Celebration Foosball Tournament. To be held October 16-18th at
Buffalo Billiards along Austin’s world famous 6th Street entertainment
district, the tournament often draws many of the world’s best,
including members of the World Cup Champion U.S. National Team.

Now recognized as an International Table Soccer Federation (ITSF)
Master Series tournament, the annual competition is a favorite both
locally and among players on the international foosball pro tour. And,
as one of the last events in this year’s 50-tournament worldwide tour,
the “Bart O” is a critical final opportunity for many players to earn
ranking points to qualify for the ITSF World Championship Finals in
Nantes, France next January.

This means the competition is likely to be intense, drawing match ups
between top players such as U.S. Team member and local favorite Tracy
McMillin (in Open categories) and Semi-Pro Champion Greg Pitt against
the likes of ITSF World Finalist Tony Spredeman of Cudahy, WI and past
ITSF World Junior Champion Ryan Moore of Lexington, KY. Women’s
competition is also likely to include some of the best in the world,
including Bart O’s defending Women’s Doubles Champions Brittany
Cersosimo of Atlanta, GA and Mary Moore of Lexington, KY, and Women’s
Singles Champion Gena Murray of Ft. Worth, TX.

The tournament is organized in celebration of the life of the late
foosball enthusiast and friend Bart O’Hearn. Competition is sanctioned
by both ITSF and the United States Table Soccer Federation, and the
tournament area is open to all spectators and press. Opening events
begin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 16th, with most finals occurring
on Sunday the 18th. There are competitive categories for all skill
levels for men and women, from beginner to Master, and players can
register on site. All competition will be held on Valley-Dynamo’s
Tornado Table Soccer™ tables. Additional happenings include a drawing
on Sunday night for an HDTV, and a very special photo remembrance of
all our fallen foos friends from over the years.

Sponsors include Austin Foam Plastic, Buffalo Billiards, Hull Supply
Company, Custom Car Crafters, Access Controls of Austin, Aquarius
Pools and the O’Hearn Family and Friends. Host hotel is the nearby
Capitol La Quinta Inn at 300 E. 11th St. in Austin (reservations:
1-512-476-1166).

Other ITSF 2009 World Tour events have taken place in Austria,
Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Russia, the
UAE, the UK and more, with competitors from over 50 countries
participating. In fact, this year’s tour may be the largest worldwide
table soccer pro tour ever, with even more to come for 2010!!
