We really do miss the official closure and cancellation of such newsgroups
as alt.hunting.dogs, and alt.coonhounds.
We have a new hunting dog (!) he is half Border Collie and half Saluki.
His persona is somewhere between that of a Nova Scotia Duck Trolling Dog and
Lurcher.
He has a hard mouth, so the retrieve is something of a problem for him.
Other than that, he is great to hunt and track most kinds of small game, be
it fur or feather.
He was rescued from the animal shelter as the owner had one to many dogs on
his truck farm that he could take proper care off.
We call our new dog *HAGRID* he just loves to be out and about in the wilds
of Colorado.
We live in the Grand Valley of Western Colorado, at the confluences of two
rivers. |

I did some work in Parachute back in the seventies, just after the name
change. Is it still a nice little town, or is it full of cheap housing? |

Howdy family,
That is a differant kind of cross for sure  Is he long-legged
enough to be a coursing dog? If he is maybe you should get him out where
he can run the long eared critters. You can check out my Salukis on my

The oil-shale BOOM has been a very mixed blessing for the Western Slopes.
Some really nice homes and some really bad ones, but both are priced to
sell.
It is the so called *man-camps* at the drilling sites that are some what
problematic.
It makes it easier to get into the back country, but, it disturbs the
wildlife. |

Yeah, I ask because the last thing I did before I left Colorado was some
grading for a trailer park on Morrisana Mesa. It was in anticipation of the
oil shale "boom" that never happened. I was in line for a job with Colony
Oil until Carter was elected. The whole Colony crew was met at the gate with
their last pay checks one morning right after the election. |
