***************************************************************
10-men Palmeiras hold on to lead with rallied draw, Flamengo
enter top four.

Sat, Oct 31:

Avaí 2-0 Atlético-PR
[Rogélio 8', William 78']
William's fantastic overhead kick goal was the highlight of
the game, as well as Avaí guaranteed stay at Série A 2010.
Points for Mark and me.

Flamengo 1-0 Santos
[Adriano 7']
Fla's goalkeeper Bruno saved two PKs taken by Paulo Henrique
Lima.
Points for all.

São Paulo 1-0 Barueri
[Jorge Wagner 5']
São Paulo do their homework and are now behind the leaders
only on GD.
Points for all.

Sun, Nov 1:

Palmeiras 2-2 Corinthians
[Danilo 52', Maurício 85' - Ronaldo 38' (PK), 66']
Ronaldo did his part of the job by scoring a brace, the
first goal from a PK that caused goalkeeper Marcos' sending
off, but Palmeiras' aerial game provided two equalizers and
they're still leading.
Point for me.

Internacional 0-1 Botafogo
[Juninho 2' (FK)]
An early free kick goal by specialist defender Juninho and
Botafogo was able to hold the lead for the rest of the game,
even one man down for most of the second half - André Lima
got a second yellow. End of title hopes for us.
No points.

Goiás 2-3 Atlético-MG
[Júlio César 42', Leandro Euzébio 45' - Ricardinho 15', Éder
Luís 21', Diego Tardelli 69' (PK)]
Goiás are out of the Libertadores fight. Galo are still in
the run for the title.
Single for MH and me, double for Mark.

Coritiba 1-0 Vitória
[Pereira 22']
Coritiba are doing their homework well and are almost clear
from relegation.
Double for me.

Náutico 3-2 Sport Recife
[Bruno Mineiro 5', Carlinhos Bala 33', Irênio 64' - Vandinho
9', Wilson 61']
Relegation is almost a question of time for poor Sport, who
started the year with such a bright Libertadores campaign.
Náutico keep their hopes of escaping.
No points.

Cruzeiro 2-3 Fluminense
[Jonathan 12', Wellington Paulista 31' - Gum 55', Fred 58',
71']
Sensational second half comeback by Fluminense, who are
putting a really decent performance of late. It may be to
late to avoid relegation, but they're at least rescuing their
pride. Cruzeiro are out of the title fight.
No points.

Santo André 2-0 Grêmio
[Nunes 28', Rafael Marques 48' (OG)]
A bit of comic relief and schadenfreude to save my weekend,
with a Grêmio defender heading an opponent's throw-in against
his own net.
No points.

Predictions score:
JP 5s + 1d = 7
Mark 3s + 1d = 5
MH 3s + 0d = 3

At least we tried hard. Congratulations Luiz. Thanks Fenomeno.
