Hello,

I have a question about the identity of an old cartoon I remember from
my youth, back in the 1980's. There was this old cartoon that one of
the local TV stations used to play when they needed time filler, like
when a baseball game finished early on a Saturday afternoon. The
cartoon was probably 10-15 minutes long and was almost entirely a
musical. It was about how the game "Chess" was invented. The story
was supposedly that there was a king in ancient times who basically
decided to replace war with a more civilized way to settle disputes:
Chess. The song was all about the king's decision and the rules of
Chess. The song sounded like early rock music, like 1950's. The
animation was in color and seemed about Warner Bros. "Merry Melodies"
quality, style, and production-level. Even though I saw this cartoon
in the 1980's, it clearly seemed much older, like from the 1960's or
earlier. Anyone have any idea about the name of this cartoon, or any
other info about it? Anyone at least remember ever even SEEING this
cartoon? Please answer on this newsgroup.

It sounds kind of like Disney educational short, but I really don't
know.
