Making her unscheduled MET debut as Turandot , those high notes are pealing
out like a certain late lamented Swedish soprano!!!!! It must be said that.
like that same singer, the low notes are not the strongest part of her
arsenal. Wagner fan |

I checked out the chat room at Parterre Box. There was a lot of praise
for Lindstrom, although it wasn't unanimous. Poplavskaya, the Liu,
received only a lukewarm reception, but the daggers were really out
for Marcello Giordani, with some claiming they couldn't distinguish
his Calaf from Charles Anthony's Altoum. Reviews of Ramey's Timur were
also negative.
BTW, apparently Gelb announced that Ramey has been cast in the small
role of the pope in Attila. |
