Being a Buddhist practitioner for my entire life, I know exactly what
John meant when he sang this line in "Rain". What I don't understand
is how was he able, at a tender age of 25, to know that? At that time,
he hadn't been exposed to any meditative practices, so there was no
way that he was privy to that fact.

Unless it was the drugs. Now, here is where I need your help (that is,
help from some articulate rmb member): I've never taken any drugs in
my life, so I have absolutely no idea how does it feel to be
intoxicated. Those of you who have taken LSD or other hallucinogenic
drugs: is it possible to corroborate, after taking the substance, that
indeed when it starts to rain, everything's the same?

I'm not asking this tongue in cheek, or to be a smartass, or to tease
those of you with weaker nerves, I'm being serious (for once in my
life).

Hey, man, like, you know I did that lysergic sd stuff once an I can
tell you, I mean, I don't know about the rain but nothing else is the
same.

I've also been a Buddhist practitioner for much of my adult life and I
can tell you that when it rains, everything is definitely not the
same. Everything gets wet.

Your master should give you 30 blows for that faux pas. Your practice
has been slacking, because you've failed to notice that when it starts
to rain, only things exposed to the rain get wet. Things that are
covered or indoors remain dry.

So your claim that everything gets wet is bogus. Back to the
meditation cushion; I want you to log another 20,000 hours before
you're allowed to post here!
