I know that some people here don't like squirrels much, but I have to
say, that based on my continuing belief that the critters are more in
tune with the environment netter than I am, I would say we are going to
have a long winter where the squirrels plan to stay in side for a long time.
Some of them are now so fat that they are becoming caricatures.
One just gave up when he couldn't figure out how to slide down the BOSS
feeder far enough to get seeds out of a port without sliding all the way
off.
And like some of the bird species, we are seeing more squirrels at a
time than we ever have before--4, 5 and 6 at a time (1 or 2 is normal).

Squirrels are currently very high on my hit list--went to may storage
shed yesterday to get my Ice House out and found one of those Red SOB's
had chewed holes in the fabric--170 dollar replacement. I have had the
house stored in there for 9 years and this is a first--wish I could use
my shotgun.

Squirrels overwintered in my garage until I left the lights on all the
time. Those fluorescents are my electric wildlife repellent.
