Ellen Macdonald married Burns long before 1880 in Sri Lanka as they

may well be their eldest childr Ellen Barne Macdolnad (b. 1854 in
Perthshire) who married in 1888.
Well, it seems it was her daughter Ellen born in 1854 who was married
in 1888- to a Mr. Andrew H. Ballingal.
The 1891 Census for Scotland shows Andrew, his wife Nellie(Ellen),
their daughter Hunter, and Ellen's brother Archibald (b.1855) and
sister Caroline(b.1864) all living at 4 Mansfield Place, Kinnouli
Parish, Perthshire, Scotland. Archibald and Caroline are living on
private means, Andrew is shown as "W S & Law Agent". |
