Legal Classics Library, 1983. Two Volumes Bound as one. Limited
edition facsimile reprint of the 1811 edition. In full tan leather
binding with gilt decoration, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers,
raised spine bands, and satin ribbon bookmark. The book is a very
beautiful edition. The small defects I will describe do not take much
away from the overall pleasure of reading a book such as this. This
copy is a part of a large collection of these Legal Classics Library
editions that were almost unread but were a little carelessly
handled. There is a small smudge of ink in a half-inch square area on
top left side of spine. Some other minor darkening on spine, less
noticeable. There may be a way to remove ink from colored leather but
I haven't researched this. Some light and very small blemishes on
foredge gilding. Otherwise, near fine.
Be sure to see the very interesting Wiki article on the Code
Napoleon. It influenced law worldwide
