To Schnyder. Surprising but not a big deal. Probably didn't get enough
motivated for Luxembourg. But comes down as her third loss since her
comeback.
Didn't find a stream for this, but followed most of the match from the
scoreboard. Kim's serve seemed to be all over the place early in the
match. 7 double faults in the first set, 11 in total, but not any in
the final stages. The match ended a few minutes ago, well over
midnight in Luxembourg. |

Yes, but not a big deal. This is what is so great in this "second
career". Everything she wins is a bonus, and no worries when she
loses, certainly not when she loses in Luxembourg. |

It would have been a big deal if it had happened at the US Open. That is
in the bag. This can be filed under "forgotten already".

The stream I was watching Srebotnik on froze and I couldn't find
anything else.
So the surprise is that 2 Belgians are in the QF and neither of them is
Henin or Clijsters. ;)
Flipkens is meeting Wickmayer in the QF. Clijsters/Flipkens are alive in
the doubles.

More likely that Schynder simply outplayed her. Happens even to
Clijsters. |

Clijsters is probably planning her training schedule around heading to
Australia and played Luxembourg as a more or less favor to the promoter -
she's not playing anything else this fall. Also, winning the tournament
would have meant qualifying for Bali (the alsoranpionships, as Waltz is
calling it), which I think she'd have had to play under WTA rules and
probably wouldn't have wanted to.
Couple of points either way in the 3s tiebreak.
Schnyder's had probably the worst year of her career, at least since the
orange juice guru; Clijsters really should have beaten her, but I doubt
she cares too much.
