I rarely post there, but I will paraphrase Beethoven: "There is only one
DavidW."

Why don't you admit that you are the ignorant douche who started the
thread 'Diving" in rss. Was it really necessary to prove that you know
nothing about soccer as well?

By comparing headers, you can get a pretty good idea.

I "admitted" it just now. I can't believe there are so many people who claim to
be soccer fans and actually defend this blight on the game. You would think
they'd be the first to want it stamped out.

I believe your point flew right over the group's head, and they went
into full foaming-at-the-mouth defensive mode.

or the contrary they raped him...

Maybe the subject word was unfortunate,

no it was plain stupid.

but I agreed with your premise: you shouldn't go down when you don't
need to go down.

ever played soccer? you are running fast with the ball and some
asshole shoves his strong thighs in the middle and you go tumbling
down crying for mercy and hoping it is not a serious injury. anyone
who tackles dangerously should not be just given a red card but also
banned for at least three matches whether the tackle caused a career
threatening injury or serious pain for even a minute. I have played
soccer even after breaking my thumb nail or sometimes a swollen
ankles... that does mean I faked it and wasn't feeling the pain.
Sometimes you carry on in spite of the pain, sometimes you can't.

So, your logic is: Serious fouls and injuries can occur, therefore every time a
player goes down he is genuinely injured.

Quote:
If the referee can't spot play acting either it is very well done to
escape the human eye (and it is not easy to do that) or it did cause
some amount of pain and was a valid foul. referees are not that stupid
to be fooled.

They are fooled often enough for players to keep trying it.

Scenario: The ball has just rolled free into the box and an attacker and a
defender run side by side into the box to get to it first. How much do you want
to bet that the attacker won't go down claiming a foul with the defender staying
on his feet?

Are you autistic or something? As I have said a million times before,
a player can suffer massive pain temporarily for a minute or two. So
if someone goes down and comes back in a minute or so, it doesnt mean,
the player didnt experience pain at all and was completely faking it.
You are just stupid to realize it because you have never played the
game. I have played football with swollen ankles and it hurts a lot
when the foul is committed. but you can get up in the heat of things
and start playing again.

How dumb are you? Did you understand a word of what I wrote? Get this through
your head:
THAT SERIOUS FOULS AND INJURIES CAN OCCUR DOES NOT MEAN THAT PLAYERS DON'T ALSO
SOMETIMES GO DOWN FAKING AN INJURY.

Are you really trying to argue that faking and diving doesn't happen? We've seen
the replays where NO CONTACT OCCURRED.

If I am the referee, I would use my eyes and judge it.

But you're not the fucking referee. The game has to work with the referees it
has.

Quote:
Of course there
is a remote possibility that I can get fooled by play acting, but that
happens in every fucking sport. Cheats are there in every fucking
sport and manage to hoodwink the referee sometimes. Of course when
they are caught they get penalized and make asses of themselves.

Again, you are a total dummy. I didn't ask about _detecting_ acting and
cheating. I gave you a scenario and asked you whether you'd bet that it wouldn't
happen. The point is that if you see only the attacker go down in the box again
and again in that situation but not so much in other parts of the field then
it's a reason to be very, very suspicious.
