Yesterday I was informed of a tragic event that took place on the weekend at
the local yacht club marina. There was a national (PC term for a black
local) swimming about 200m offshore directly in line with not our own
harbour entrance but with 2 commercial wharves used for larger vessels. A
friend of mine in his 25 footer did not see the swimmer and accidentally ran
him over, severing his leg and opening his abdominal cavity. After
retrieving the swimmer and taking him to the Warf and loading him into an
ambulance (I think it was an ambulance, but they are not common here) he
died on the way to hospital. 30 minutes later a truck load of people
(Highlanders) show up demanding huge compensation money from the club and
threaten to take over the club until it is paid (Highlander are known for
this type of bull crap), cops are called and things are tense for quite a
while but eventually they are convinced that the club is not responsible and
that someone would have to be crazy to be swimming in a busy shipping lane.

No burning women yet.

fast forward to Monday....

It's in police hands and from what I have heard the highlanders took the
crazy to swim part of the notice seriously and barricaded 2 women (relatives
of the deceased) in a house and wanted to burn the house down with the women
inside. The reason given is that the women used witchcraft (also a common
thing for highlanders) to drive the man crazy and swim into the path of the
boats. The police again were called and at this stage they bound the women
and vowed to transport them back up to the highlands and cook them there.

Moral of the story is that if you do happen to run somebody down in your
boat make sure that person is a highlander and that their family are
believers in witchcraft, that way you will not be held responsible.
