Do you think that the IPL are concerned about how badly their sides are
doing in this latest Thrashathon? Am thinking that it's going to be harder
to glam the IPL up to sell to the locals if its teams are patently second
rate. Perhaps more furriners will be allowed in the IPL's next iteration?

The IPL standard is as much as the quality of Aussie Emerging 11 team. |

There is no change in the IPL teams' quality from the previous years.
If anything, this tournament has shown that there is lot of T20 talent
in the Australian and South African domestic circuit who did not have
a chance to play international cricket all these days. Now some of
that talent will be picked up by IPL too, to replace some of the aging
international players (Russow has been picked up by RCB, Holland has
got a call-up for the Australian odi side, etc).

According to your brilliant logic, Indian cricket should have died in
the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s & 00s
But again, logic isn't exactly your forte...
GDP Growth * Economies of Scale * Monopoly |

They don't need more - just to get rid of the clapped-out ones such as
Symonds and Styris.

The aim of the IPL is to make money, not produce good cricket.
