Hi all,

Well, we managed it! JC Dill got to meet Ms. Comet and myself of
course. And Lucy and George (barn cats) too, of course. And see some
white-tails running off into the woods...

Of course, JC is wonderfully nice. And we had a great photo session.
I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE PICS! Very Happy
(No hurry, JC, really <grin>.)

I'm totally sure that Comet will look b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l. I'm hoping
to have some good shots of her without me to mess up the picture! :-Q

Even got a few under saddle pics...I jumped on Ms. Comet at the end
for a little trotting, cantering, and, erm...a minor "frisky" moment
that JC *says* she captured on her camera! I'm looking forward to
seeing that one. Ms. Comet decided to show off her 28 yr old moves!
Just a little bit. She was a peach otherwise.

I have to say that JC liked Comet's supersoft hide - Comet's got
wonderful hair, I can't take any credit for it. Smile And commented on
how pretty she is. But, hey, I knew that!

I didn't get to see Eileen or Carl...JC came by herself and it was a
very nice meeting.

Thanks again, JC! I really appreciated you even thinking of us during
your trip to PA! I hope the rest of your time here is great and you
get some good photo sessions in before you head home. JJ and Comet.

OK! Sorry Jill and Jeannie! Here's the link. Please ignore the
woman in blue. :-)

I have my one picked out, which will be a gift for DH and Mom (they've
both asked for a "nice" photo, i.e. no sweaty hat and "kisses" on my
shirt, and that's the *only* reason I'd give anyone a picture of
myself as a gift, ugh!)...

Enjoy! Comet is *lovely* I might add (again)...and you'll see some
frisky moves on her part and funny faces on me as I enjoyed that
ride! :-)

She. Smile And yeah, but she really didn't want to cooperate for that
pose...so it's pretty good! Smile She was fussy and wanted to walk and
check out all the squirrels and such in the woods.

She actually looks pretty good I think in that picture. She's
actually put *on* a little weight in the last couple of weeks or so.

Yeah, we "stood" her a few times and then I think that must be the
best shot. Comet prefers to stand with her *right* front forward, not
her left. She's one of those right-sided critters, I read that most
horses are left-sided?? Anyway, it is what it is.

Makes sense. She was a very successful hunter pone for many years
before I met her. Big stuff, but not with me on board! Wink Thx, JJ

In this portrait session JJ wanted to focus on the duo portrait pose
(her and Comet's heads together) rather than conformation poses. I just
took a few conformation poses as we started out because there was a good
location to take a few shots before we moved on to a good location for
the portraits.

JJ mentioned that Comet is a "right foot forward" horse, and as we posed
her I discovered she would gladly stand correctly with the legs the
other way around, but there wasn't a good location to pose her from the
other side (where the lighting and background would make for a good
photo). She would briefly stand correctly in the location we were
using, but then stand there with her ears back. In our efforts to get
her ears up she would move, and step back or forward such that her legs
weren't correct again. Or she would look off to her right (in the woods
behind her) at a squirrel and prick her ears at the noise over there,
but of course that didn't work for the photo. She was getting a bit
frustrated so we moved on to other poses. Instead of doing more
conformation shots at the end we did the brief under-saddle session instead.

I just looked at 5822 & nearly peed my pants. JC, can you photoshop the
rider & saddle pad out of that pic? If so (no offense JJ) that would be one
of the funniest horse pis ever.

I know she isn't posed perfectly in the conformation shot,
but she is not only a lovely, pretty horse, but has exceptional
Tb type. Her front (head, neck and shoulder) is wonderful, her
topline is amazing for a horse of her age, and her rear is
just as good as her front. She has a great eye, her expression
is relaxed but very alert. My kinda mare. :-)

I think she is breathtaking and I am not at all surprised that
she jumped the big sticks she did in her youth.

Man, I do love a nice Tb.

JJ and Comet were delightful to meet. Comet is a grand old lady, every
inch a TB, and super, SUPER soft and silky coat. JJ takes such good
care of her! You can see that they have a super relationship.

The cats and deer were a nice touch - you did a great job with
scheduling the white tails for our photo session. LOL

I absolutely love the pictures. It's late so I'll look at length

tomorrow. So far with just a quick scan through, my favourite is 5750
because the two of you look alike (expression wise that is <g>). Wow,
I am impressed. Comet is so lovely. And you too JJ--you look like you
write i.e. ladylike, soft, gentle.

Hi JJ:

The pictures are wonderful. I think the one that you chose for the
gifts is glorious. I would want ALL of them! They are all, simply
wonderful!

Wow! Comet did get a bit .. er... uhm.. frisky, didn't she?! I'd
fall off. Heh!

With respect to the throat latch, I agree with Hunter. It's too
loose. It should be below her throat, not on her cheeks. But, it
should not be tight. Also, once again, I agree with Hunter regarding
the example she showed you: that one looks a bit tight.

If you still have it, then run through the DVD I sent you. I think
you can see where we place our throat latches.
