There's a very interesting video making the rounds and Rachel Maddow played
it on her show last night.
It shows a room, full of about a hundred Republicans, monitoring the IOC
vote about what country would get the next Olympics.
One person is on stage, and is on the phone with a rep at the IOC meeting.
When he tells the room that the US lost the bid to host the Olympics the
Republicans break out in laughter and cheering.
Just before the video ends, several Republicans high-five each other and
embrace - patting each other on the back.
The interesting thing is that they KNEW they were being recorded.
They didn't mind because they saw nothing wrong with their behavior.
Cheering the US loss was just the Republicans way of saying how they feel
about the US; that they not only want us to fail, but that Americas' failure
is their success.
It's disgusting to see my own countrymen cheering the US loss.
Unfortunately, I've gotten used to seeing this kind of behavior from them. |

Quote: I am glad that we didn't get the Olympics..Can't you just see what O and Michelle
would have done with a favorable vote? We would have had this as a
steady
diet for the next 7 years....7 long years. The only good thing is
that by
the time we would be getting ready for the Olympics in 2016..the
Democrats
would be ready to nominate O's successor..or whatever...that would
have
been something to look forward to... |

I know you are.
I don't share that anti-American attitude - but I sincerely appreciate your
honesty in expressing your sentiments on this matter. |
