no graphics, no replay capabilities, no analyst.

Quebec. While darkness enveloped Montreal and the Forum itself, the
Forum's reserve generators kicked into gear only to illuminate the
rink surface with enough power to keep the game moving. CBC was left
with no choice but to abandon coverage.

Note: After Game 3, there was an incident between Devils coach Jim
Schoenfeld and referee Don Koharski. It was heated and it ended with
the infamous insult (something about donuts and pigs) from Schoenfeld
to Koharski. The NHL suspended Schoenfeld indefinitely. The Devils
actually took the suspension to court, where they issued a restraining
order, just minutes before game time. Incensed by the order, the on-
ice officials for Game 4, refused to work the game, in essence,
staging a wildcat strike. An emergency call went out to get on-ice
officials, and they were found. The game was delayed by about an hour
due to the bizarre situation.

Note: The 5/24 game was suspended when a transformer blew at the
Boston Garden and it was feared the generator would only hold out
another 30 minutes. Thus, the game was called off. Game 4 was replayed
in Edmonton. Had the series gone a full seven games, game 5 (CBC)
would have returned to Boston, Game 6 (CanWest-Global) back to
Edmonton and Game 7 (CBC & CanWest-Global) would have been played in
Boston. The Oilers would have still held home ice advantage with games
1, 2, 4, and 6 at the Northlands Coliseum.
