Anyone been to Aruba lately? I'm wondering if they built that hotel
(Radison?), and if it blocks the wind.

The wind is fine...there's no hotel being built.
Aruba has different problems, namely overcrowding on the high rise
beach for nonwindsurfing beachgoers. They've built too many hotels,
and the island doesn't have enough beach for all the people the hotels
can hold! Not a problem for windsurfing, but FYI.

Yes, I remember when that was the story. The windsurfing is still
quite good there once you get out from shore a bit...sail down by the
wreck! And of course there's Bonaire.

high-rise was going to be built that would block the wind even more.
I might be out of options this winter, due to schedule and limited air fare
options, and so it looked like Aruba might work.

Thanks again Michael. I'd actually prefer Bonaire, but the limited flight
schedule is making it tough.
Also, I guess either way, I'm also worried about the el nino year.
Brian.
