So, you ghosts who post here, who are you leaving your stuff to? Does
anyone care about your toothpick holders?

Seriously, what are you doing with your stuff after you croak.

T,

I'm doing what my mom did - keeping a list of who gets what (I have
two sons). One son would keep everything, no matter what it is, and
the other has said he'll back his truck up and take everything to the
dump. LOL.

If neither son likes what they've got, they should trade - if neither
son wants a family piece, they're supposed to tell my brother and
sister (if surviving), so they or their kids can have dibs.

I've put grandchildren on the list because at least one will
appreciate and take care of the family stuff.

If it didn't come to me through family, I don't care what they do with
it. I just hope they get a decent price for the artwork.

N.
I have several family pieces but only one that I have designated to

a particular person. I have my great grandmother's little writing
desk. It has not much in real value. My Mother says she bought it
with coupons. I have also seem it in a 1900's Sears catalog. At any
rate, it was hers then my Grandmothers then my Mothers, mine and now
it will go to my oldest granddaughter. I have told my children as
well as my Granddaughter and there is a written note in the desk.

Everything else is up for grabs.

Oh, T!  sometimes I think about if I have to move into a "retirement
village" what things will I take.   I think I'll just let a moving
company pack it all up and then spend the rest of my life using
packing boxes instead of furniture!  ;-)

It's funny, isn't it, all this stuff?

You could just pretend you were in college or a newlywed or something
and live with boxes for furniture. I think that's a valid choice.

Hi mate,

(back 2004) after a series of chest pain that's what "they" told me at
my local hospital -nothing wrong with your heart- "probably just a case
of bad indigestion" lol .. a week later! I had a biggie!! by the time
the ambulance got me to hospital this time around. I was out of it.
D.O.A. They had to resuscitate me along with a massive dose of clot
busting drugs and all sorts of needles.

But sure, all's well that ends well, that is, along with several
coronary stents and handfuls of daily drug taking.

Take care my friend, and remember, there's always a fire in the hearth
for you here. ;-)

Did my best to take them all out for beers.
You guys are very kind.
So, there'll be a little something but it looks like I'll be around to
annoy you for a while yet.
Thanks.
Well....make sure they're right! Glad you're OK. You WERE
missed.

Now....I have a problem. For some reason, since you changed
to asdf, I can't see your posts without going to (ugh) google.
You're
not in my killfile or anything like that. But until I poked around
here,
I thought you had left forever ;)

Can you please change back?

Kris

It changed itself. I swear it did. Guess it's best to start over.

He is, according to his message headers:

Complaints-To: groups-abuse at (no spam) google.com

I'd also recommend getting away from GG as fast as possible.

(aioe.org is one free server I've used. No need to even sign up--just
point your news client at their server [news.aioe.org] and away you go.)

Hi David, how business? In regards to aioe.org I've got them as my
backup newsreader, every now and again their server goes belly up for
weeks at a time, usually when the server owner goes on vacation ;~) I'm
currently using news.x-privat.org, it's been running without a glitch
for over a year now for me.

I love individual.net. It's not free ($15.50 USD a year), but it's the
most stable news server I've ever had. Ever.

Well, since you asked, it sucks.

Was hit by a car about 2 weeks ago riding my bicycle. Hit and run.
Motherfucker (I use that term charitably) hit me and just took right
off. Two weeks of pain and the inability to even use a fucking
screwdriver. (Miraculously, no broken bones; I guess I'm lucky to not
have osteoporosis at my advanced age [56].)

Sorry to hear that, Bit slow here as well.I bike a lot myself and have
had a few near misses. The last banger I had was with a huge bloody dog
dragging about 20 feet of chain you could have moored the Queen Mary
with. It came at me and I jammed on the front brake ( I was holding a
bag in the back brake hand)I cleared the front wheel and went about 15
feet, landing with my palms out and rolled. End result, frozen shoulder
for about 8 months. The dog amazed at my ability to fly buggered off....
