I'm not sure that it works as a series, but as a one-off parody it was
pretty damn funny. *

Which can be said about MOST Swim shows that bad-memory stoner-parody
things they saw on weekday afternoons as kids.
Derek Janssen (ironically enough, we now *do* have a section of CN's
audience that "wants to watch the same shows they saw as kids", and yes
they ARE scary)

More like "Longest. FAIL. Ever.". When will these Adult Swim clowns
realize that nostalgia references are not enough... they need to bring the
FUNNY.
And bring back Shin-Chan! |

I always thought there was a decent show lurking somewhere inside Voltron.
I'm not sure this is it, but it'll have to do for now.

You think all the spoofworthy elements in anime have been used up in 30
minutes?

No, Project A-ko was 90 minutes, and only scratched the surface--
In Adult Swim's case, however, it used up all the elements of
niche-bashing stoners who think "Japanimation" consists of Star Blazers,
Voltron, and Other Crappily Dubbed Things They Saw Back in the 80's.
(And not all of them work for Williams Street.) ;)
Derek Janssen (still trying to convince anime fans whether it's really
WORTH taking the bigoted pop-kitsch crap that they regularly do from
CN/Swim, just for a few Bleach reruns)

Tirgun . . . and Moribito . . . and Code Geass . . . and Eureka 7 . .
.. and Inuyasha . . . yeah, this is probably *still* not enough to make
the point for "some," but it should do . . .

I guess they're "reruns" if you saw the original Japanese; dubbed
though, clearly new . . .
