Just wondering if Dilshan has ever gotten out attempting to play the
Dilscoop. Or even failed to connect or given a chance to the fielding
team at all?
It just seems like every time he's tried it has resulted in a boundary
without much risk. So I'm wondering why he only ever seems to play it
once every innings. |

More importantly, who else thinks that beard he sports these days is
ridiculous? |

He hasn't gotten out or even produced a chance playing it. Only once
he did not manage to connect it as he would have liked, but it went
along the ground to short fine leg not conceding a run. Other than
that all his attempts at the Dilscoop were successful. |

Two failures in yesterday's match against NZ, although no harm done. One
was inside-edged into his pad, the other he missed and was hit on the
shoulder.
He does risk injury - if the bowler knows the scoop is coming and drops
short then Dilshan is vulnerable to being hit. Thus using it sparingly
seems wise.
