Yellowstone National Park hosted a record number of visitors this summer.
Nearly 2.3 million people came to the park during June, July and August, up
124,000 over the previous summer record of 2,173,371set back in 1999.

Wow - that's quite a horde! And all just to gawk at bison, elk and
Old Faithful! (Is there anything else up there? ;-)

No, not a thing. People should just stay home and watch a good movie
instead.

It is getting nice up here now. The crowds always drop about mid August and
then jump for a week or so after Labor Day (the people who wait until the
kids are back in school). After this weekend I expect the crowds to really
start dropping. Facilities in YNP started closing this past Tuesday and the
closings will continue for another month or so.
