There was that guy Jessie Owens who won the running race at the 1936
Olympics (probably not aired on tv, but show in newsreels at the theatre
before the cartoons and the main feature), probably upsetting Hitler since
it contradicted his notion of a master race.
Jessie Owens certainly made us proud that day, kicking Hitler like that.

Actually he won four gold medals in the Berlin Olympics. |

I think it is a daft idea. If you only want like with like to compete, why
not selecton the basis of ability rather than racial origin, I.e. only allow
good runners to compete against good runners etc. This could be achieved by
having qualifying standards, which is what happens already in most sports.
