Like I said, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to say I dove in
the Marquesas, emphasis on the "once".  What kind of price can you put
on that?

$80 for a 20 at (no spam) 20 dive in The Living Seas tank at Walt Disney World?

But we got to see all sorts of neat stuff that you normally don't see.
And got to spend about 25 minutes topside with the dolphins.

That's cheap compared to what we paid to dive the Maui Ocean Center's
shark tank:

http://www.mauioceancenter.com/index.php?id=6&ss=0&page=shark&content=shark

$199 for a "30 to 40 minute dive" but we also got free T-shirts,
aquarium admission, a behind-the-scenes tour, and a nifty laminated
certificate. No dolphins, but hand-feeding an eagle ray is definitely
a unique experience.

We looked at that one last year, but after "visiting" MMC's ER, it
just didn't work out. That was, in my opinion, the most expensive 2
miles I've ever riden on a bike. I looked up the insurance paperwork
on it. Insurance paid (much less than billed) $3800 for the ER and
follow up here.

We have been to the Ocean Center three times and go every time we're
on the island.

Fortunately we made our MOC dive the day before the eel bite. Not
only were the dive and behind-the-scenes tour interesting, but we were
able to catch up with our friend Jim, the asst curator there, whom we
met as a fellow passenger when we dove Cocos a few years back.
Another couple on that Cocos trip had been married in the MOC shark
tank.

At least the eel bite out of pocket portion was partially subsidized
by DAN as a diving injury. With the broken ankle, even though she was
wearing the wet dive gear she had just walked out of the water with
about 2 minutes prior, and even though there's no way she would have
suffered the same injury had she not had scuba tanks and weights on
her back, since she was on dry land, DAN does not consider that to be
a dive-related injury. I should have dragged her back in the water
and fed her ankle to an eel.

No guns this time (thanks to toughened German gun control), no
fatalities. Congratulations Germany for reining in your guns and
keeping your schools (relatively) safer!

the cxhildren were only axed and burned.

as a liberal,
having failed to identify correctly and solve the problem,
you still have the same problem, unresolved,
just a different type of collateral damage.

but you feel better.
feeling better is more important to the liberal
than protecting the Constitution
or correctly solving the problem.

You did swear to protect and defend the Constitution, right?
Not to modify and change, but to protect?

But loyalty to the Bar, you must be high. I only have loyalty to a

Is it really exploitation to offer a few thousand dollars worth of

Yeah, probably. Can I buy your kidney instead?

-:
-:You can advocate all the dead children you like, Bob Crownfield,

this as stupid and unfounded and untrue a remark as
"only cops and criminals should have guns-
They are the professionals."

I keep forgetting that you say things
that no sane person could believe,
that not even you could believe.

I keep forgetting that truth is an alien concept to you.

I keep forgetting
that you swore to uphold the Constitution,
and you lied.

I really expect better than that,
even from a liberal granola like you.

(friend rich calls lawyers "professional liars")
WE need a law that holds any lawyer accountable
for the truth of anything he says.
For a lawyer and officer of the court
to lie should be a felony.

CA has a young teenage girl,
who is an olympic competitor in the pistol competition.
she had a special .22 target pistol, like a hammerli,
designed only for competition.

it was banned as an assault weapon in CA.
an outstanding example of presumptous ignorance.

I remember the ignorant grandstanding legislator,
not understanding what or who he was talking about,
saying "if she wants an assault weapon she should move to texas".

the law was revised 9/19/2007, several years later.

-:
-:So I'll pose a simple question to
-:you, especially since you're one of the more elderly members of the
-:defunct rec.scuba: Have you ever, ever, ever had to use your firearm
-:in self-defense?

so I may assume that since your house never burned down,
you do not waste money on home insurance?

after all, the police will protect you,
and the fire department will save you.

no need.
you will be well taken care of.
others will plan and protect you.

tell us again greg:
does the police department have any specific obligation to protect me?

or do they protect the general good, and follow policy.
(visualize the la crowd destroying property
and turning over police cars as the department watched.)

we all say it on live tv.
how the truck driver who was beaten
while the police stayed out of the riot zone.
they did not want to make the riotors mad.
we all say it on live tv.

in la county I called 911 three times:

same answer each time:

"all of our operators are busy.
your call is important to us"
please stay on the line,
and your call will be handled in the order recieved."

the police and the firemen do their jobs.
they follow policy rules and procedures.
they risk their live to help people.
I respect and admire what they do.

but if I have to rely on them,
the last words I hear could be:

"all of our operators are busy.
your call is important to us"
please stay on the line,
and your call will be handled in the order recieved."
