I bought a Trek 3700 Mt bike, and one of the cranks
was bad, so I was going to put a couple of used ones
on there. I put my crank puller on the crankset snugly,
slowly turned the level using a cheater bar, and I
ripped the threads right off that crank.
Three questions:
1) Should I have prepared the crank (banging it with
a cold chisel to loosen, lubricant, etc.) before the
process. I've never had to before.
2) How should I get it off now? Beating the crap out
of it?
3) Are Suntour cranks made out of metal that is that
soft and crappy?
Thanks,
