That said, I got minimal riding in.

I didn't even get to ride the old lady this winter!

'Bout to sell 'em both - just doubt I'd get much for the older one.
The handle bars are hanging low and the seat is kinda flat and spread
out from use.

Ya gotta make time, I got 1500 miles in. Best winter I've had in 3-4 yrs.
even though it ended early.

To be honest, I just wasn't interested this year - no desire to ride.

No desire is not as bad as plenty of desire and other crap interfering.
Tomorrow will be my third ride of the season, and I'll be breaking in a
new piston and cylinder. I guess the only way I'll get a year of no
repairs will be a year I don't run the sled! A piston and cylinder is
still cheaper than a new sled, but the new sled should be less work. I
generally enjoy the mechanical work, but it just wasn't so much fun this
year when it meant missing one of the too few ride opportunities. We
should have ridable snow in the area for a couple more weeks, as long as
we don't get any high spikes in temperature.

I had a good year.
Started the season on my '06 GSX sdi and racked a few miles on incedent
free.
Only wrenching I had to do was change headlight bulbs in the wifes '07 GSX
sdi and a speedo bulb in the '99 XC 700.
End of Jan. was in the Doo dealer and he had a deal on a '09 GSX 1200 .
Knocked $1700 off list and gave me $4300 for my '06 with 3300 miles on it.
WTF I went for it.
Other than a loose plug on the motor causing a oil leak the 1200 has been
flawless. Hands down the best riding sled I've ever owned, even put 111 mph
on the speedo with my fat ass on it. Next winter will check against GPS on
it's accuracy.
150 mile days are no problem for my old ass, if fact my buns get numb so
it's time for a big riser for some comfy ass refreshing standup time.
It's so quiet at 35 mph I had to get used to all the track and rear suspen.
noise you couldn't hear on the 2 strokers. It's suprising how much of a
racket a rough trail makes back there, took quite a few looks at the skid
untill it sunk in that I was hearing normal sounds. 14 - 17 mpg depending on
trail and flipper use.
Leg room on the XR chassis is unsurpassed by all the others. At 6'1''
that's important.
On my one down day sat on all the other brands, even the new Poo, and none
of them had enough footwell to fit my size 12 -100 boots.
Got another 900 miles on this sled for a total of 1493 for the short season.
Most riding I've done the last 3-4 winters.
Nothing bent, broken and tow strap stayed dry, damned good winter IMO

Got in the most riding I have in years only went riding local twice even
when we had snow to go local.Did allot of riding in Gorham Milan Errol every
ride was great put on atleast 120 to 180 miles each day on great trails.Only
had to use the tow strap once 130 miles into the ride 01 700 xcsp just
decided to stop moving trailered it home next morning and ripped it apart to
find connecting rod bearing cooked decided its not getting fixed till this
summer.Loaded up the 97 Doo Formula Z and headed back 2hrs north again and
managed to get in another 300 miles.Did that a couple more times right up to
2 weeks ago riding was still great. So I managed to get in about 1400 miles
total this year so all in all a pretty good year.Reports say could have gone
last weekend all the way up in NH but didn't feel like driving 4 hrs to find
out if reports were wrong so till next year Happy sledding everyone

The good from the bad is that per my suggestion Petes brought in
some EMT trainer guy to school us at work tommorow. I've done the CPR
thing but I forget and were going to get that and a bunch of other
basics. I've had a few of these weird sureal situations in my life
and now two in the last year, the one prior to this being WAY more
extreme and I put up a post not long ago to it's details. Bottom
line, knowledge is life!!

Wes if you have to go it alone, I would. I have honestly had most
of my best rides solo and regardless of the general consensus it's as
safe or safer than ridding in a group. Best deal is ridding with a
bud you can really relate too but that's a rarety. I'm out for this
weekend on account of impending rains and lack of a registered truck.
Sucks becouse I'm game for banging some hills. Whatever though, I'm
all about buying me a new bike that should have been here in Feburary
WTF!

Anyway, glad to here all the posatives and Gary, you my friend have
to come spend a couple days ridding with yours truly and drinking
stupid with my daughter and I on a weekend. Good times in a trailer
trash sort of way with better times seeing things you want to see
every day for the rest of your life. Bring the boy and after I punch
him in the arm hard we'll go crash Jeff Bs' party!!

Great pictures, as usual. My welder didn't get my pipe together, so no
riding this weekend. My new Aaen pipe arrived this morning, much to my
surprise, but it looks like I'll have to revise my clutching for the new
power and RPM profile. A little more power won't be bad, and maybe it's
time for some extensions and a 136" track. More schemes than brains, or
money, eh?
