Yamaha tech question...

2002 Yam Mountain Max 700 flashes overheat light in pattern of 4
flashes, then a pause, then 4 flashes, then a pause, and so on.
Engine is not hot, owners manual is no help. Ideas ?
Hope everyone is having a good ride.
